Cindy your story is remarkable to me! See, I survived the tornadoes of April 27, 2011 and awoke with a heavy cajun accent which later changed where I fluently spoke French, Italian, German, and Spanish for two weeks, then after a 3 hr nap I awoke with a British accent. Now its not just an accent it is truly a way of life for me. I would love to know more about FAS if you have the information and time to explain it to a newbie. God Bless and take care of you. I am sorry that you have gone through such a trial. However, I am blessed to have been able to even meet you because of our shared challenge of Foreign Accent Syndrome. May God use us to help foster understanding not only of the miraculous functions of our bodies, but also, the ways in which we communicate with others. Let us use this challenge to increase awareness of how people should be more considerate of others and how our “words” are powerful. . . in whatever accent they may emerge : )

I’m already feeling your (pain). Shorter days: The sun isn’t up here in SoCal until just shy of 7 a.m. Ack. I’m already dreading Dec. 22, the shortest day of this year–BUT the good news is, then we start ticking forward, yes? I’ll treasure that extra nanosecond of sunshine on 12/23, for like you, this darkness thing isn’t my cup of emotional tea. I’m so glad you wrote about this now, for it’s happening to me, too, and always has. For six years, I even moved to New Zealand for that country’s “summer” just to escape the seasonal change, but no more back-and-forth now, thanks to ye old recession. Glad you’ve seen the light!
