During our ongoing endeavors to bring 2009 to a close, we are excited to announce the winner of our AgingButDangerous; How Have You Been Dangerous Contest? We really appreciate all the entries we received and it was very difficult to choose a winner. Quite a few of you had unbelievable experiences – living on that “little dangerous side of life” was really fun to read about. But somehow we kept coming back to the poison fish.
THIS IS OUR WINNER: (drum roll please)

“Most dangerous? Hmm, as a risk taking type I’m hard pressed to pick one thing. Looking back over the years casts some seemingly innocent activities as dangerous and some daring ideas as not such a big deal. Having a 5 course tasting menu of Fugu–Japanese blow fish which contains a deadly poison–would have to be one. But I wanted to experience this delicacy as a chef. Lying my way into my first chef job at a high end boutique department store called Henri Bendel’s was risky and scary. The lie was I had experience; the truth was I just knew I could handle the job. And I did and it launched my career as a chef. What fun to review so many of my life adventures, thanks for the contest gals! “
We especially liked her comment about how your perspective of what is dangerous changes through the years—very profound Gregory Anne Cox.
We will be sending Ms. Cox her AgingButDangerous T-shirt post haste—ENJOY!
(WARNING: Wearing a T-shirt that says AgingButDangerous on it, (no matter what your age), will evoke wonderful smiles and many times cheerful dialogue from those you encounter—be prepared to enjoy life.)_
