CASTING CALL RESULTS

On February 25, 2010, in Cool People, Dangerous, Mental Health, by SBates

P1060452P1060441P1060429Our casting call event was a HUGE success!  We met women of all ages and size.  Gorgeous women!!  At first, we were getting a lot of 50 year olds (who looked like they were 35) and, of course, we needed a range of 50 to 80 year old women for our AgingButDangerous Modeling Squad and our fashion show on April 22, (Dispelling The Myths of Age and Fashion).  Then we started seeing the 60 and 70+ year olds, who, again, looked much younger than their biological age. What a beautiful group of women!  We also heard many heart-warming stories.  One women just left an abusive marriage and said to us, “even if I don’t get picked, just trying out has given me so much self-confidence”.

The day was spectacular!  From getting fitted for a bra, let’s get those boobs hoisted up so we can see them, (there was a curtain cubicle for that) to a bodysuit that takes inches off your body and helps you lose weight, to sleepwear that absorbs the perspiration when you are having “hot flashes”, (and then deodorizes it), to books and oils to use for your sex life.   Questions were professionally answered about plastic surgery and we demonstrated a flat iron that does wonderful things to your hair, plus hair extensions.  People could see what they looked like with long hair—it was a riot.   Some looked really good and some “not so good”!

We had hot food served all day into the evening.  Pizza, hot panini sandwiches, homemade potato chips, desserts and, I think best of all, flowing champagne!  All this was free!

We want to give credit and huge appreciation to our judges, Stephanie Allensworth, from Allensworth Talent Agency, Angela from Posh Modeling Agency and Jean Ketcham, AgingButDangerous.com.

It was an absolute FUN, FUN day!  AND we have 18 beautiful AgingButDangerous models!  (The oldest will turn 80 this year–bet you can’t guess which one.)  Hang on while we change the perception of age appropriate fashion and who should be modeling it.  Congratulations women:
