Mission Statement
Is it sad or is it happy that at a time when many of us would like to be kicking off our shoes for long walks along the ocean, warm sand slowing oozing through our toes (I can just smell the salty air)—we find we have another pocket of un-mined wealth. When I previously read that line by Marianne Williamson in the inspiring poem A Return to Love that challenged us to the notion that our deepest fear was “not that we are inadequate”, but that “our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure” I had no idea how truly profound a truth she had uprooted for me, and the women around me.
Whether you have been a stay at home Mom (remember domestic engineer) or CEO of a Fortune 500 company, you my friends are this beautiful, ripe, richly colored, full, mature fruit, ready to be harvested—yes—at 50+. Cool, huh? Well for me it is like most everything else in life, a two headed monster.
My cohort in this concept of providing a bridge to reinventing (or just merely polishing ourselves) at 50+ is Jean Ketcham. She and I came to this insanity of collaborating with the world about this transition simultaneously, which was a comfort—sort of. Overwhelming as it seemed, who better to tackle this conundrum than two very different women who have been best friends for over 30 years. You can read the bios for the hard facts, what is most important is that our mutual belief is that women can do ANYTHING they put their minds to—especially at this age.
We are here to guide you with humor, empathy, inspiration, fascinating facts and savvy strategies. By combining current research with hilarious stories of our own lives (and yours), we will rally the “The Consumer Majority” to rebel—to forget the norm, push the edges, recapture (or at least reenergize) their ju-ju, their mojo, their spirit. Boomers and beyond will be motivated to find new meaning in their lives—be it spiritual, sexual, fiscal, or physical (like looking hot at 50+!). Inspiration comes from debunking the mythical norms of aging and providing viable, heck—even fun, alternatives.
So put your shoes back on, we can walk on the beach intermittently when time permits—it will be sweeter that way. After sharing a little wisdom, a little history, a little humor and an updated road map of the new territory ahead Jean and I will inspire and guide you to the MOST wonderful time of your life NOW.
